Now is the time to learn about Rocky Mount and take the reins of leadership in helping shape a future of prosperity.
Several programs will be available this fall to help local citizens, especially young professionals, develop a better understanding of Rocky Mount, its business and nonprofit community, local government operations and the resources and opportunities it possesses to facilitate future growth.
The Rocky Mount Fire Department will comments its second Citizens Fire Academy on Thursday night, September 15th. This is a hands-on, fast paced academy that will introduce you to the exciting and demanding career of a professional fire fighter. It is designed to increase understanding of fire and emergency services and to promote citizen interaction with the City of Rocky Mount Fire Department.
The 10 week course taught by experienced fire personnel will provide participants an opportunity to gain classroom and hands-on experience to help them understand all of the services our fire department provides to our community. The class will meet on Thursday nights from 6-9 pm beginning September 15, 2011 and ending with a graduation ceremony on November 18, 2011.
Participants must be 18 years of age and able to pass a professional background check. To become a participant in the next class, download the application or call:Kim Wittig
